Anil Kumble Likely to Travel to West Indies With Indian Team
Indian cricket team head coach Anil Kumble — whose tenure comes to an end on June 18 — is likely to get one-tour extension while a long-term solution is being worked out by the decision-makers.
It is now being reported that, Kumble will still be at helm when the Indian team travel to West Indies on for a bilateral series on June 20. The reason being given is that there is not enough time to appoint a new coach as Champions Trophy finishes on June 18 and India's first match against Windies is on June 23.
"The acting president spoke to senior members and we are all of the opinion that the matter be placed before the SGM in Mumbai on June 26. Till such time, any recruitment process should be kept on hold. Majority of the members are of the same opinion," Rajiv Shukla was quoted as saying by PTI earlier
