Sanjay Dutt’s Kids Didn’t Know He Was In Jail, His Wife Told Them He Was Away Shooting For A Film

For several years he was away from his kids serving his jail term after being convicted in a case for possessing arms and ammunition used in the 1990 Mumbai blasts. That phase was tough not only for the actor but also for his wife Maanayata and little kids, who were too young and innocent to know about it at all.

He had told his wife not to ever bring the kids to the jail, and now he reveals that she didn’t even let them know where he was. Maanayata told the kids that the father was away shooting for a film and that he’ll be back soon.

“Children these days are so smart. My kids would ask Maanayata (his wife) to call me. She would lie that I'm away shooting in the mountains where there is no network. Luckily the jail authorities allowed me one call every fortnight, and I would make that call to them,” he told DNA.
